Halloween Social Skills Activities

Halloween Social Skills Activities

The ideas are endless- in and out of my learning center. We get to read, write, play with numbers on the Halloween themed activity worksheets. Each class has been working on art activities as well.

  1. Making paper pumpkin with construction paper

Students started this project by ripping a whole bunch of orange paper. Smaller the better looking! Then, we cut out eyes, nose, mouth, etc for the face. It was a fun and simple way to explore different ways to handle paper and color contrast. The outcome is super cute!

2. Melting crayons on the pumpkin

This may be a bit overwhelming for some of our auditorially sensitive students- because it takes a while to melt the entire crayons covered the pumpkin. I recommend the smaller pumpkin and I am sure it will show more vivid colors for a shorter amount of time!

3. Hand Print on the pumpkin

This pumpkin has to sit in the class by the entrance. As anybody walks in, this will greet them and show the welcomeness of our community.

4. Skelton with Q-tips
Skela is our special guest who only shows up in the month of October.  She greets us every morning and teaches us how the inside of our body looks like. As we read about Bones/Skelton using Raz-kids and Brainpop Jr. this month, this art project is always a nice way to wrap things up.

5. Flying Ghosts

This “Flying Ghost👻” is a super simple art project in which students worked on using scissors properly, coloring inside the line with different art utensils. These activities are fun! It can always accompany a good read-aloud activity as well.
