Sensory Toy Unboxing Special Education Resources

It’s August 2022. Getting ready for the new school year means getting some more cool toys and teaching items. For the most part, I try to create individualized materials for each kiddo. Cut, paste, laminate, and cut….you know the process!

It’s also a great time of the year to look into what’s trending in the kids’ toys market. I know pop-it toys were a hit for the last couple of years. After spending some time researching, these sensory-based toys are what I got. Check out this video!

Sand Timer(3 minutes)

Gel-bead Sensory Shapes

Tilt&Turn Liquid Sensory Window

Silishapes Sensory Circles

Sand Timer is good for a kid who displays sensitivity to clock noises. My students also enjoy staring at the sand coming down through the tube slowly.

Gel-bead Sensory Shapes have been popular in autism classrooms and preschool classes. It comes out in different colors and shapes. It got some fun texture while squeezing down the orbiz inside the plastic cover.

Tilt&Turn Liquid Sensory Window is something my student would love this year. Clear oil-based liquid fills the tube and kids can play by manipulating the metal ball.

Silishapes Sensory Circles are fun toys that can be used in different places and purposes. Each circle has different shapes and patterns on it- so that a kid can sit on it or rub the surface to feel the different texture.
