Following Directions Activities

I have been thinking a lot about executive functioning skills strategies when supporting students in the general education classroom. In order for a child to engage and participate in the classroom activities, he or she should equip with solid emotional control, response inhibition, working memory, sustained attention, task initiation, planning, organization, persistence, and time management. Each one of these skills seems extremely crucial to being a happy and successful learner in his learning environment.

One of the activities that work nicely was a simple following directions worksheet and activity. As a child goes through this workbook, he/she practices and works on task initiation, working memory, time management, sustained attention, and persistence.

Simple Following Directions Activity

This is a simple worksheet in which a student can work on starting(task initiation) and completing the task on his own (sustained attention and working memory). It will help a child gain confidence in working on a structured and simple format.
