Summer was over a long time ago. In October, things seem much smoother on a school campus. Students understand daily routines/expectations, and teachers feel comfortable putting more work demands on their students. Feeling productive. ⛩
For a special education teacher (like me), it is a different story. Working with students in 10 different classes is NEVER an easy task- especially managing their work and streamlining their behavior systems consistently across different staff members (sub days?) always hold my anxiety level up high. 🎢
Finally, I grabbed several small sized binders with different colors for each student. Half of A4 size binder. This is for my staff to carry the proper visual support and checklist for my students in their classes throughout the day.

More binders? That was my first thought but it ended up helping staff organize pieces visuals.

When a kid gets distracted, quietly show this visual card to him. Point to it. “Eyes on Teacher, Mike”

His token board is also part of this binder- his aide doesn’t have to look for it everywhere.

Mike will be also read social story about “being a good friend” at the right place and time.
