Schedules for tomorrow?

We all know that students with autism greatly benefit from having their own schedule to follow through the day..A schedule gives one clear expectations of the day and a way to visualize his or her day.

Schedules can come in many different formats:

Sure…but the problem is who is going to prep or make a schedule for next day…my staff used to set up 8 different students schedule every day before he goes home. It is a bit of work, isn’t it? So, I came up with the system where students can set up their own schedule as part of their daily routine. Mostly in the afternoon job.

  1. Check schedule to ‘make schedule’

2. Find your own schedule board (color coded)

3. Sit at the desk either with only words or with picture.

image only words: Identify tomorrow’s column(Monday, Tuesday…) and find each word icon from the corresponding drawer.

image picture icons: Simply find the matching pictures.

It is not easy to set up the next day’s schedule but my kids love to do it!!
