Menu Math

A couple of my students use a Menu Math as their main math curriculum-They love to see the real pictures of food items and have fun using a calculator to come up with the sum and difference.

Have this menu handy. I even laminated this page on a different color, so kids get always motivated to look for the price.

I normally spend some time for this page: practicing reading a menu page, answering how much each item is…

Then, soon kids will move on to a simple addition and subtraction question…I have my students use a calculator when it comes to this part..

Next step will be multiplication, right? Even students, who do not have much knowledge of multiplication process, would grasp some ideas here by the repetition of skill practice.

As students master the first book(Menu math), they could move on the Market Math and Department Math. I didn’t know they come from Mayer-Johnson. Great!!!
